Transparent protein-variant triage

Ready. Load a demo or paste a protein sequence and variants.

Education-ready Research-triage workflow PDF-ready worksheets

Explainable amino-acid variant analysis without pretending to be a clinical oracle.

This upgraded build separates biochemical computation, sequence-quality checks, structure/database handoffs, evidence gaps, and classroom guidance into a polished product workflow.

Deploy-ready package

This build is structured as a static web app. Upload the project folder to GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel, Cloudflare Pages, or any static host. A separate polished landing page is included in landing/index.html.

Product positioning

The strongest version of this product is not an automated pathogenicity classifier. It is an explainable teaching and research-prep environment that helps users ask better questions before deeper database review, conservation analysis, structural modeling, or expert interpretation.

For students

Learn how amino-acid chemistry, substitution matrices, and sequence context influence variant hypotheses.

For educators

Run guided cases, export classroom reports, and teach evidence separation without relying on black boxes.

For researchers

Batch-triage substitutions, document quality gates, and create reproducible evidence dossiers.

Interpretation principle: a high score means “review priority,” not disease causation. Database evidence and expert context remain separate from computed chemistry.

Live evidence handoff

Online enrichment is optional. If a browser blocks an API request, use the generated source links instead.

Curated examples and teaching scenarios

Validated demos + teaching-only contrasts

Cases are deliberately split into reference-backed demos and teaching-only scenarios. Teaching-only examples are useful for lessons but should not be presented as real clinical variants.

Structure

AlphaFold / protein structure viewer

Optional online feature

Load the AlphaFold model for the UniProt accession and highlight the selected residue. If the viewer library or model file is unavailable, the tool keeps the analysis usable through source links and report export.

Viewer not loaded yet.

Residue context

Structural context shown here is preliminary. AlphaFold confidence, experimental structures, domains, active sites, and interfaces must be reviewed separately before any serious claim.

Student mode

Guided learning flow

  1. Observe the substitution. What changed: size, charge, hydrophobicity, aromaticity, or flexibility?
  2. Check the sequence. Does the reference amino acid match the provided protein sequence?
  3. Compare scoring panels. Is the result high because chemistry changed, evolution disfavors it, or both?
  4. Separate evidence types. Computed features are not the same as clinical assertions, population frequency, or experimental results.
  5. Write a hypothesis. State what might be disrupted and what evidence is still missing.

Every export includes a non-clinical boundary statement, timestamp, method notes, and quality checks. PDF export uses jsPDF from a browser CDN and falls back to Markdown if unavailable.
